Here's a photo of Kelsey from the parade this morning. She's the flutist on the far right. It was a great parade - very long and a great turnout - I just wish our Memorial Day parade had this much interest. It keeps sprinkling off and on so I'm not sure the fireworks will happen, but it's still been a nice day. I hope everyone has a great one!
I don't know about all of you, but I love the Fourth of July - second only to Christmas as far as holidays go! This is the first year we have been home for the fourth in several years; we usually celebrate while vacationing at Myrtle Beach, which is a wonderful experience, with fireworks being set off on the piers up and down the coast. The only downside to celebrating there is the gazillion or so other vacationers who are bumper to bumper, shoulder to shoulder and poolside chair to poolside chair with you.
Weather permitting, we will be going to the parade tomorrow, cheering the Rutherford B. Hayes High School Marching Band as they march by with Kelsey tooting her flute, and then watching the fireworks tomorrow evening. President Hayes was born in Delaware, thus the name of our high school. We happen to live in Hayes Colony subdivision, where all of the names have a Washington D.C. theme - Senate Avenue, Executive Blvd., Federal Circle, Presidential Blvd., Supreme Court, Congress Court, Heritage Blvd., Capitol Court, etc., and then there's our street, Page Court. Page Court seems a tad insignificant compared to the grandiose names of some of the other streets, don't you think? We are small - just nine houses, and are very fortunate to get along well (for the most part) with all of our neighbors. Even the ones who have chosen to plant their garden in a huge area abutting their driveway, smack dab in front of their house despite having the largest lot on the court and an even larger garden in the back yard. Tim bitches constantly that they make us all look like the Beverly Hillbillies.
Back to the Fourth of July - I hope everyone celebrates our wonderful country happily and safely. May God Bless America!

Laurie

Hope that you and your family have a great day, and there seems to be a neighbour like that in every neighbourhood. Wish they would show more consideration to others, but their theme song seems to be one of all about them. Anyway happy 4th of July to you and yours.
Hugs,
Cryna
I must met your hubby sometime...I am being a lazy bum today. Watched the fireworks out my living room window last night. I don't think we have a parade today. Can watch that too from my front or back window. LOL I need to call my siblings for bday wishes. Hugs
Thanks, Cryna - you have a terrific day too, even if the fourth of July is just that, the fourth of July!!
Don't work too hard this evening, Judy. Happy Birthday to your brother and sister!
