Anything for a buck

My youngest daughter has always been game to do (almost) anything for a dollar. From the time she was small, her sister would ask "Hey, Kelsey, I'll give you a dollar if you'll . . ." We enjoy antiquing and stop at almost every antique mall, shop, store, hole in the wall, you name it, that we see when we're traveling. Earlier this month we stopped at an antique store outside of Kent when we went to open Kelsey's bank account, stroll around campus and check out the downtown. Almost immediately, Lindsay is saying "Kelsey, I'll give you a dollar if you'll act like you're drinking from that giant milk carton." Did she do it? You betcha.

Put on a seagull mask? No problem.

Dress in Colonial garb and play the piccolo with her friend's dad for a day-long Giant Eagle/Samuel Adams beer July 4th fife/drum promo? Absolutely! Of course, this one paid 250 bucks, so she jumped at the chance.

So I'm curious - what would YOU do for a buck - or given inflation, five or ten bucks? Me? I'm not very adventuresome and won't do much of anything. Are you a daredevil? I'll admit that I'm a big fud and rarely step outside my comfort zone.

On another note - did anyone notice the links I've added down the side of my blog? It only took me a couple of years to figure out how to do it (doh) - I'm very pleased with myself but at the same time, embarrassed that I didn't figure it out sooner! I'll be adding more in the near future. The only downside is I lost my hit counter at the bottom and seeing how it was close to 19,000 hits, I hate to start over at zero - I'll most likely forego another counter. And I was so very proud of each and every one of those hits!

I hope everyone has a great week! Reviews and another contest coming soon - maybe even tomorrow!

What would I do for a buck? Thats a tough question. One I don't think I'll answer online. LOL

I am not the adventureous type, and really try not to bring attention to myself, so I would stand back and watch, but not do anything for a buck........lol.

It would have to be a lot of bucks, but I'd do pretty much anything fun/funny/silly as long as it didn't compromise my high moral standards....bwaaahahahahahah!
I almost got that out with a straight face!

Whoo hoo on the side links! I'm a little tecnically challenged myself!

Spelling challenged, too!
technically, not tecnically.

Hmm, I'm more like Cryna and not big on being the center of attention, but I like to watch LOL.

Hey, I made the cut! Woo hoo, I'm a link on Laurie's blog. How cool is that??? :)

I'm not very adventurous either, so it'd take a lot more than a buck to get me to do something. Of course, it depends on what it is too. Shave my head? That would take A LOT of money. My hair is possibly what I care most about, in regard to my physical appearance.
Eat 20 packets of sugar? I'd probably do it for $10. [A friend and I actually had a sugar eating contest in middle school... bad plan, but at least I know it's doable.]

I am not very adventurous at all. I be the person daring someone to do something...

Kelsey looks cute.

Ok, interesting replies here - Sasha won't (can't?) tell us what she would do - hmmmm? Cryna and Stacy are voyeurs and Angie-la is "too good" to take a dare (unless the money's right), limecello is headed for a sugar coma and Judy is trying to get everyone else to take a dare!

I'll be joining Cryna and Stacy in the roped-off area reserved for spectators!

I'm not very adventurous either. When I was on a treasure hunt trip with my brother last year, he was the one who had to sing 'Oh Susannah' to one of the people to get our next clue.

I did notice the links at the bottom, but I also see a hit counter that has 18,900+ on it.

Hey Karin!

I wasn't going to do a hit counter but when I checked into it, found that I was able to pick up where the old one left off. I had to estimate because I couldn't remember the exact number - I think I'm close to within 50 or so, one way or the other!
