An empty nest

For the first time ever, Tim and I will actually have an empty nest after Kelsey goes back to school in a couple of days. Lindsay and her boyfriend moved into a condo a couple of months ago and while they're only 30 minutes or so away, she also started a new job, so we only see her once or twice a week. Between her leaving, Kelsey going back to school, and a long-time co-worker retiring, I'm the only legal assistant in my office now. Fortunately, the attorneys do a lot of their own documents, etc. so it isn't impossible to handle things for all three of them.

I'm working on some reviews and there will be giveaways, so be sure to check back in a few days. I've been on a serious romantic suspense kick lately and it has played serious havoc with my review books - I'm crazy far behind.

So what have you all been reading? I love the recommendations of my fellow readers, so dish!!

I moved my son back to college this past Saturday and I kind of miss him already. I am between books right not trying to decide what to read.

Jill Shalvis just posted about her middle daughter going to college. Her first daughter started a few yrs ago.

I remember that time very well even tho it was over 20 years ago.

I recently read The Goodbye Quilt by Susan Wiggs about this subject. V.G.

Glad to see you back posting! I'm late to the party but I've just started the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Never knew mysteries could make me laugh so hard. I'm on the 5th book and really enjoying them. I'm not looking forward to my kids leaving home. My oldest is a senior this year with her brother just 2 years behind her.

Hi Laurie,

I remember my first year as an empty nester. It was so nice not having to cook a meal at a set time or grocery shop for hungry men. My youngest son is already a college Senior! Time flies!

It takes a bit of adjusting to but I'm sure you and Tim will continue to have some great, fun together times!

Reading I've been so busy getting two rental properties ready for new tenants and helping daughter move into and fix up her first home that my reading time has been greatly effected. Recently I read two older books by Candace Camp. Next up: two books by Lorraine Heath and one by Annie Gracie.

BEST WISHES!!
