(Yeah, I realize that the pic I put up shows May 9th, but the date is Saturday, May 8th, so disregard that, ok? ) Don't forget that this Saturday is the STAMP OUT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE by our local letter carriers. Place a bag of any non-perishables by your mailbox and your mailperson will pick it up. We've done this for several years and I promise that your heart will grow a size or two when you set that bag out! One note, be sure to check the expiration date on the food you donate - outdated food will simply be thrown away (you can do that yourself) - plus, it's insulting to think that someone needy deserves expired items that we wouldn't feed to our families.
I hope you'll join me in this - such a small chore for each of us that adds up to an incredible show of support for our needy across the country. I think it's so wrong that there are people in the United States of America who go hungry - it breaks my heart.

Thanks for the reminder! I always try and contribute each year.
Done! Thanks for the reminder, Laurie, and happy Mother's Day!
Dang, this year I missed it :( Usually the post office leaves a reminder, but I didn't see one this year. I'll have to mark it on my calendar for next year.
