HOMEBOUND

Update: The blizzard warning has been lifted and now we're just dealing with flurries and high winds. We're still under a level 3 snow emergency, meaning only emergency vehicles are permitted on the roads. I've added some more pics - one looking out of the garage when we first opened the door and one of Tim using the "Big Bastard", our name for his snow blower. He was able to get quite a bit done today, but will be out for several hours again tomorrow. Our neighbors are always happy when they hear the BB fire up because they know he'll be clearing all of the sidewalks and their driveways.

Our blizzard warning continues, for good reason. I took this picture looking out my kitchen window. Now that I'm sitting down to put it up, the houses across the street from us have totally disappeared from view in the heavy and blowing snow. We've had 12 inches so far and it's still coming down very hard. We had to clear a spot for Fred to go out to potty - you can see that the snow is deeper than he is tall - that's the problem with a basset hound and snow!
I'm about to make some pancakes and put a pot of veggie soup on to cook. This is a good day for cooking and baking. There's not much I enjoy more than being in my nice warm kitchen, filling the house with good smells!
Please be careful in you're in the vicinity of this winter storm - stay home if you can.
Laurie

Other than the subject matter, great pictures. I'm glad that Fred's staff is taking good care of him. LOL

Ok trying this again....

My sisters dog is a Westie so she is even smaller then Fred. Friday it took me three tries to talk her into going outside. LOL

It looks like its finally stopped here. You should see how high it is when I open the door.
Be safe.

We had a cute couple of inches fall last night/this morning. By noon it was almost all melted away. Just enough to be pretty, not enough to really slow anything down. Of course, here in Middle TN, you'd have thought is was a blizzard - no milk or bread to be had in the grocery stores.

big hugs, stay safe and warm. Enjoy the soup! Chris S.

wow, I could use BB down here to do the walk way to the apt. They did do our driveway around 8 tonight. Hopefully it won't refreeze. Its supposed to be 50 by Friday so it will be all gone.

Yikes you guys got hit hard. Glad everyone is safe, but it's been a crazy winter. Warm (and snow-melting) hugs to you all.

Dayum that is A LOT of snow. I guess me telling you it was sunny and 73 here in Cali wouldn't make you feel better, huh?

Stay warm!

I tried posting the other day, but it wouldn't let me. Oh well! That's a lot of snow! I do not miss the snow at all. I remember grwoing up in Nebraska and having snow drifts higher than the roof of the mobile homes. I think I'll stay in California with our 75+ temps.

This winter has been amazing. I love snow, and we got hit just as hard a few days ago (I live in Montreal). Fortunately, the snow blower gave out JUST after we were done with our driveway. Yickes. Now it's time to fix...
