GO RED FOR WOMEN

Update: I've decided to send a lapel pin to everyone who comments - or until I run out! So no worries of anyone being left out - I'm thrilled with the response!

February is Women's Heart Health Awareness Month. The American Heart Association has a great website that's chock full of information about healthy living and womens heart health. Take a moment to stop by and see what you can do to keep your heart in good shape!
I'm going to run a little contest for a pack of "Go Red" notecards and lapel pins. I will send out lapel pins to the first ten commenters and draw a name next Saturday for the pack of notecards and a lapel pin. If you're one of the first ten to leave a comment, I'll ask for your address next Saturday - please don't post your address here. These aren't expensive items, I know, but the notecards are pretty and they do make a nice statement; I've worn my little red dress pin everyday in the month of February for the past two years with the hope that it might make others aware of how important our heart health is.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Laurie

Hi Laurie!

This is definitely a great cause. I'm going to sit down with my mom and look over the site.

Thanks for doing this, Laurie--I think anything that reminds us women to take care of our hearts and our health is definitely worth it :) Hope you're having a great weekend, too!

Cute pins and a great cause. Saw a segemnt over the weekend on Around Indiana show where heart disease is now the number one killer of women.

Thanks for the info Laurie.

BTW I noticed your pin on the weekend.

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by! Barb, did I not give you a pin on Saturday? I forgot about them until the last minute and was frantically handing them out before we left the store. I'll be sure and get one out to you!

Wendy, I'll send you two so you can give one to your mother, ok?

Blackroze, I agree - kids need to be so much more active than they are - we've become a mighty lazy society with all of the time we spend in front of the tv and the computer.

You're in, Beth! I've decided to give a lapel pin to everyone who comments (one of those comments was mine anyway!) Thanks for your interest! I'll ask for names and addresses on Saturday.

Great cause, Laurie,

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, claiming the lives of nearly one million Americans every year. We really do need to stay updated as this disease is
both modifiable and preventable.

GO RED!

I commend you for supporting another great cause. My dad had two heart by pass surgeries, when he was 59 & 73 (over a 14 year period) so my family was very heart conscious! Luckily the women have all remained heart healty!!
Thanks for the info link.
