Holiday music

                                          (Country Living)

How many of you are holiday music listeners?  I typically start listening a week or two before Thanksgiving. If I'm home alone, I turn on the Time Warner "Sounds of the Season" channel - if I'm in the car, I've got the music blaring and I'm singing along at the top of my lungs!  My family doesn't share my love of Christmas music, so I have to squeeze it in when I can!
My girls often burn CDs for me and I love the assortment of music they put on them - some I'm familiar with and they know I love, but most are surprises that they think I'll enjoy. I have a couple of holiday assortments that Lindsay has made for me that make me smile every time I listen. The assortment includes Elvis, Jose Feliciano, Ray Charles, Bing Crosby and some National Lampoon Christmas Vacation selections.
So what are your listening habits? Do you sing out loud to the songs you've known since childhood? I find myself humming constantly this time of year, regardless of where I am.  I have a feeling I'll be one of those little old ladies (like my mom!) who hums her way through life.  There are so many things worse, right?
I hope you're all enjoying the beginnings of a beautiful holiday season!

Hi Laurie,
I sing along to songs I know (even though I can't carry a tune). I just can't seem to stop myself. Right now at work we've got the radio set to a station that's playing all Christmas music and I'm loving it. Currently, one of my favorite songs is a rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas by Straight No Chaser.

I sing along to songs if I know them. I have been listening to the radio myself a whole lot and they have been playing a lot of Christmas music and it helps get you in the mood.

Definitely into the holiday music. I've had the all-Christmas station tuned in at work since the week of Thanksgiving (they switched over the week before, but I did not have it on then). I also have 32 hours of Christmas music on my Windows Media Player--and that's only half the CDs I own. Too bad I can't upload some of the cassettes I still own. *G*

I love to listen to Christmas music. I've had Andy Williams, Barbara Streisand and John Denver since college. We've added several others over the years. Il Divo, Vince Garibaldi's Charlie Brown, Charlotte Church. This year my daughter has already purchased Jewel and Christine Agulera. Last year it was Glee. She has about 30 Christmas CDs. I sing along. I have a terrible voice but who cares.

I hope you have a wonderful time with your daughters, husband and friends!

I love christmas music. Been playing it in my car before thanksgiving. Started early in the hopes I can get through all my cd's. Love the muppets christmas, Mariah Carey, Mitch Miller. To name a few.
