Feeling like a real turkey

And no, it has nothing to do with Thanksgiving. I'm feeling incredibly guilty about having neglected my blog for so long. Can't explain why, there've been no family emergencies, no work crisis, I have no excuse except sheer laziness and a temporary lack of interest.
I'd like everyone to share their Thanksgiving plans. Is anyone traveling far away to get together with family and/or friends? We're staying here in town and going to my cousin's house. I've been asked to bring a dessert. Since there will be pies, I'll be baking a cake.
I've been doing some decluttering and cleaning and as a result, have two shopping bags full of books. I'm going to do a couple of giveaways closer to the Christmas holiday and will be giving away boxes of books - however many books I can cram into the "if it fits, it ships" boxes from the postal service. The books are a wide range of sub-genres and include Harlequin Presents and Silhouette Desires, ARCs, trade paperbacks and mass market paperbacks.
So please forgive me for sucking so lately, and share your Thanksgiving plans! I'll be back to discuss current reads very soon!
Big hugs,
Laurie

Don't know what it is about this time of year but I always get into a cleaning/organizing frenzy.

Skipping travel this year to spend a quiet holiday at home with hubby. Planning on doing lots of cooking and eating! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Going out to eat this year, have an ill relative and decided to take it easy this year.

Nice upcoming givaways. Looking forward to them.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

Am going about 10 blocks to the youngest daughters for dinner.
All I have to take is a pumpkin pie, that is cooling right now.

I was getting a little worried about you. I'm sorry about your friend's son. Prayers going out for him tonight.

We having our family over here for supper. Seventeen adults and one toddler! Believe it or not, I've cleaned the house and prepped all the food that can be prepped.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. I am thankful to have you for a friend.

Hi Laurie,

Hope you had a wonderful day with your family!

We traveled to my FIL's house about 2 hours away. I cooked the turkey, a meat stuffing, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes. My 2 SIL's and my daughter split up the rest of the meal. Everything worked out perfectly! We played games and Sheepshead. It was fun only 8 people.

Christmas, we are going to try the same thing with at least 6 more people. We will see snow this year already saw a few flurries. My sons will be coming back to Wisconsin for 2 weeks!

I wish I'd catch the decluttering urge. I'm definitely a pack rat. I'm saving all kinds of treasures for my future grandkids.

I always have room for books!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

After reading your blog I got together several bags of books that I've read and I donated them to the Senior Center via my 84 yo neighbor. She said that the ladies were especially thrilled. They are going to charge 25 cents per book and use the money to buy necessary items for the Center like paper plates, napkins etc.

It's a start!

Happy Holidays!
