HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Anyone have any exciting plans for New Year's Eve? We never do anything for New Year's - I like it that way. I'm sooo not exciting! I'm rarely even awake to see in the new year. My girls are always out celebrating with friends/boyfriends while we're at home, struggling to keep our eyes open! Sometimes I see the ball drop and sometimes (ok, usually) I don't!
I'm reading Elizabeth Scott's FREE PASS now (yes, I'm embarrassingly late), so look for a review soon, followed by Lisa Renee Jones' LONE STAR SURRENDER, which will include a couple of fabu giveaways.
Did you have one book in particular that you read in 2008 that was stellar? Try any new authors that you're anxious to read again? I read so many great books by so many great authors in 2008 that I truly can't choose just one as Best in Show!
I hope you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve, however you choose to celebrate. Please be careful if you're out on the road.
Happy New Year!
Laurie

We go out to an early dinner with a group of friends and then go back to one of the couples to bring in the new year and watch the ball drop.

I read many great books - Virgin River books by Robyn Carr and Susan Mallery's "Sweet" books. There were many, many more but just cannot seem to get my heading thinking.

Happy New Year to all.

Hey Laurie, I have no wild plans either. Bummer. It's sad that I don't even care *g*

I read a lot of great books too, and this year I was kinda smart and kept a list. I'll be doing a "best of" on the 1st @ my blog. I'm actually looking forward to it :)

Have fun, Pat - I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Stacy - you're such a show off - lol - seriously though, I'll be looking forward to your list too! Of course, you're a professional blogger - no one expects that sort of organization from me!! Happy New Year, sweetie!

My plans usually depend on what my friends or my brother have planned. Right now, I haven't heard from anyone so I may just end up at my grandparents' house, which is what I did when I was younger, playing pinochle with my parents and grandparents and drinking sparkling cider.

I'm like you in having read too many great things to just choose one, but the new to me stand out author is a tie between Jill Shalvis and Gena Showalter. I look forward to their releases in 2009, along with a ton of other authors I love!

Hi Laurie, To me the New Year's Eve is just another day. If I'm not busy or asleep I will watch the fireworks display on our local channel though. A few books I loved and can't wait for the next in the series are by Karen Moning-Faefever, Sherrilyn Kenyon-Acheron, Brenda Novak-Last Stand Trilogy, and Christine Feehan-Drake sisters. A new Writer I discovered was Charlaine Harris and I can't wait for her next Sookie book. Too many books and not enough time!!

Have a wonderful New Year.

Hi Laurie-

No big New Years plans her. I might go to the movies. We get off work at noon New Year's Eve so that's a plus too. Will probably catch a movie maybe eat out and be home by 10 or 11. Most of the time I stay up for the ball to drop but I'm usually fast asleep soon after.

Hope you have a wonderful New year no matter what you do.

All the best in 2009 Laurie. We're having a quiet start to the year as well - just the way I like it. Wishing everyone a good time however they'll celebrate!

Happy New Year, Laurie!

Eddie and I are going out to eat with some good friends, then we'll be back home and probably asleep when the new year rolls around. We live such a wild life, LOL. Ed's leaving for FL today to be there for the Capital One bowl tomorrow and the other two boys have friends coming over to hang out. I'll lay in some pizza and drinks for them and they'll be happy.

I wish I was as organized as Stacy and kept a list of the books I really enjoyed, but I didn't. I can't remember one book that stood out as being so much better than the rest, but I do remember reading one by an author that I love and was very disappointed in it. I wish I could forget that and remember the good ones!
