There's no place like home, there's no place . . . .

Well, Another Damron family vacation is in the books. It's good to be home, EXCEPT for the piles of laundry, souvenirs to be sorted out, piles of mail, groceries to buy . . . the list goes on and on. It's hard work putting together and wrapping up a family vacation.
We headed south, still a tad undecided on where we were going; when we reached the fork in the road where we needed to decide whether to go to North Carolina or South, we decided to head south first and work our way north from there. We ended up getting into a hotel we've tried to get into for two years without success - Camelot By the Sea - a gorgeous place that is only a couple of years old. Because we typically go during the July 4th holiday, they are always booked. Going after the holiday this year was definitely a good move on our part, both for getting the hotel we wanted and a smidge fewer vacationers. We ended up liking the hotel so much that we spend the rest of the week there and never did see the North Carolina coast. Oh well, maybe next year!
The photo on the left is of Tim and Kelsey during one of our sunrise jaunts on the beach - around 6:30 a.m. You'll notice the absence of Lindsay - she refused to get out of bed. The second photo is from our hotel room balcony - the 14th floor made for a very scenic view. The weather was typical of July in the south - hot and humid. The heat index had reached 105 by the time we left. Almost unbearable and requiring lots of dips in the pool.
I read one book while we were gone - Cherry Adair's EDGE OF DANGER - I'll be posting about it in the next day or so. I enjoyed it very much and recommend it to all of my friends who enjoy hot romance with an excellently written touch of woo-woo.
Hugs,
Laurie

Sounds like you had a great vacation. I'd love to see more pictures -- hint, hint. It's good to have you back and posting again. I'll look forward to the Adair review. I could use some woo-woo right about now.

Welcome back Laurie! I missed ya too. Gorgeous pix. I'm also voting w/ Lindsay - vacation time doesn't start til at least 9am. Any scenic route tours this year?

Awww, thanks guys - I'm glad someone actually missed me! Stacy, our only scenic tour came when Tim decided to get off the interstate in favor of a smaller highway when we were getting closer to home, and letting Lindsay drive the rest of the way. Turns out it was a different highway than he thought and we were partly on slow-moving two lane country roads - I was in the backseat w/Kelsey and he was the navigator. He was furious with himself - I have to admit that way down deep inside, I was smiling. No knee patting necessary this trip!!
